Job Description
Overview of Duties
At a maintenance shop affiliated with a transportation company, you will be responsible for the vehicle inspection and periodic maintenance of trucks (primarily dump trucks). Tasks are performed in teams of 2 to 3 mechanics per vehicle, working collaboratively to complete the job.
Even if you currently specialize in passenger car maintenance, you can gradually acquire truck maintenance skills as seniors will teach you the workflow and key points. This is also recommended for those who want to take on a new field as a mechanic.
Specific Duties
- Inspection and maintenance of trucks (primarily dump trucks)
- Inspection and repair of engines, brakes, suspension, lighting systems, etc.
- Replacement of oil and various consumables
- Identification, adjustment, and replacement of faulty parts
- Creating and organizing maintenance records
- Incidentals such as organizing tools and cleaning the workspace
This is a job where we prioritize safety and finish each vehicle meticulously. Since the work is done in teams, you can consult with others rather than trying to handle everything alone.
Daily Schedule (Typical Example)
A rough outline of a day is as follows:
- Arrive at work and change clothes
- Morning meeting (sharing daily tasks and safety checks)
- Inspection and maintenance of assigned vehicles
- Breaks to refresh
- Afternoon continuation of maintenance, confirming and recording work content
- Cleaning up tools and workspace, preparing for the next day
- Clock out
Basically, this is day shift only, and overtime rarely occurs. The work progresses at a steady pace, providing an environment where you can focus on your tasks calmly.

Work Hours & Shifts
- Working Hours: 8:00 – 17:00 (Actual work: 7 hours, including breaks)

Salary, Monthly Income Example, & Allowances

- Transportation Allowance: Paid separately (Up to 12,000 JPY/month, per company regulations)
- Overtime Allowance: Paid separately (Based on labor laws)
